I Own This Abercrombie & Fitch Tank Top in Nearly Every Color

These days, I’m physically and emotionally drawn to Abercrombie & Fitch, even more so than I was as a middle schooler in the late 2000s. Like many, I responded to the brand’s dramatic transformation trepidatiously, but when I did, I became – and remain – fully engrossed in the hype, no stranger to an A&F TikTok haul. That’s not to say I’m one to drop a casual $2,000 on the brand’s wares, but it’s where I’ve been going for casual yet elevated basics. And while I’m not usually one to buy a silhouette in several colors, the brand has changed that for me with its Essential Scoopneck Tank ($21, originally $25). Ahead, find out why I have so many in my closet.

What I Like About This Tank

For starters, I’m a sucker for ribbed clothing, which is the reason why this tank top initially caught my eye. The second reason is its name. Dubbed the *Essential* Scoopneck Tank, I was curious whether this tank top would actually lend itself to everyday wear. After all, it’s hard to find high-quality basics, and I hoped this one would fill the hole in my closet for tank tops that I felt my best in.

The verdict: It’s worth the hype. It’s made of 95 percent cotton and five percent elastane, a combination that makes it perfectly soft and stretchy. It boasts a slim but not-too-tight fit that’s casually sexy. (And no, I can’t see my seamless bra through it!) It looks chic worn on its own or underneath a jacket. All of the aforementioned reasons are why I ended up ordering it in every monochrome hue. It checks all of my boxes – I’m obsessed.

What’s Worth Noting

This tank top has predominantly high ratings, but a few reviewers noted that they returned it because they didn’t expect it to be so short. On me (I’m 5’9″, by the way), it lands just above my belly button, which I love because I’m almost always wearing high-waisted bottoms. A few others didn’t expect it to be so low cut. I’m personally a fan of the style and find it to be really flattering. It’s not overtly low cut by any means, but that’s not to say that you can’t see a little bit of cleavage. (IMO, a little cleavage never hurt anybody.)

Who Is This Tank Top Good For?

This tank top is a versatile, high-quality wardrobe basic that’s suitable – and stylish – for every season, whether you team it with shorts and sandals during the summer months or jeans and a cardigan when it’s chilly.
